Egypt Celebrates 1045 years Over The Construction Of Cairo A Lebanese tourist who was arrested last month for posting a video on Facebook complaining of sexual harassment and conditions in Egypt was sentenced to eight years in prison by a Cairo court on Saturday, her lawyer told Reuters.Mona el-Mazboh was arrested at Cairo airport at the end of her stay in Egypt after a 10-minute video in which she called Egypt a “s** of a b***h country” went viral on social media. The 24-year-old Mazboh complains of being sexually harassed by taxi drivers and young men in the street, as well as poor restaurant service during the holy month of Ramadan and an incident in which money was stolen from her during a previous stay.A Cairo court found her guilty of deliberately spreading false rumours that would harm society, attacking religion, and public indecency, judicial sources said.An appeal court will now hear the case on July 29, according to Mazboh’s lawyer, Emad Kamal.“Of course, God willing, the verdict will change. With all due respect to the judiciary, this is a severe ruling. It is in the context of the law, but the court was applying the maximum penalty,” he said.Kamal said a surgery Mazboh underwent in 2006 to remove a brain clot has impaired her ability to control anger, a condition documented in a medical report he submitted to the court. She also suffers from depression, he said.Egyptian rights activists say they face the worst crackdown in their history under Sisi, accusing him of erasing freedoms won in the 2011 Arab Spring uprising that ended Hosni Mubarak’s 30-year rule.Supporters say such measures are needed to stabilise Egypt after years of turmoil that drove away foreign investors and amid an Islamist insurgency concentrated in the Sinai Peninsula.Related Oscar Pistorius Sentenced to 5 years in Jail Egypt Jewellery Museum Reopens After Three Years

DART By KILA NAO [email protected] The Kauka Darts Association received new dart boards from Motu Koita Assembly member for Kira Kira village Arutu Bake over the weekend. The presentation was made on time as Kauka also paid its affiliation fee to the PNG Darts Federation. President Goasa Geita said it was way forward for the association which is into its maturity status and look forward to participating in sanctioned tournaments organized by the federation. “I want to thank the councillor for his continuous support to sports. This is first time for darts in the village. “We are glad that we can be able to use the boards during the competition and also take us to the next level,” Geita said. Bake said sports play an important role in human development and the only way to get everyone is to help them in whatever necessary ways that enable them to change their attitudes and behavior in the village. He also watched the Team game knock out challenge which had 16 teams participating. In the challenge, Hunters were too good against other teams when they defeated Rome two in the grand final. Hunters went through the race undefeated with good wins against Gadota 2/1, Koura one 2/0 before beating their nemesis. It was superb shooting from new recruit John Tau and Rabura Mahuru, Peter Bake, Madia Rabura and Hoge Ginate that ensured they won the K400 prize money.

Powered by Firework Matthijs De Ligt is hot property as we speak. At the age of 19, he is a tall figure in the centre of Ajax’s incredible defence. Not to forget, he’s the captain of the club’s first team. Yes you read that right – the first team. No wonder Barcelona are keen to bag the services of the Dutchman after already securing the transfer of Frenkie De Jong, who’s another talented Ajax midfielder.Advertisement De Ligt has suitors from all across Europe. Liverpool have recently involved themselves in the transfer saga but the latest to court De Ligt are none other than the Biaconeri. Juventus are going full throttle to become an European superpower. With the talismanic services of Ronaldo upfront, a promising defender in the form of De Ligt would certainly take them to the pinnacle of European football.Advertisement Speaking to Tuttosport, De Ligt said: “[A move to Juventus] could happen, but there are others who are also interested.“We’ll see at the right time. At the moment I’m fully focused on Ajax and my agent [Mino] Raiola is taking care of the rest. Also, De Jong hasn’t spoken to me about a move to Barcelona.Advertisement “I really admire [Giorgio] Chiellini, he’s a very strong centre-back and one of the best ever. I also appreciate [Leonardo] Bonucci. They are two of the best centre-backs in Europe and two examples to follow for a young player like me.”This statement does give the transfer saga an entire new dimension. However, in today’s world of 200M deadline day transfers, anything could transpire from here on. Advertisement
Officials from the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) have recently suggested that the evolving nature of the retail environment may lead to a change in the risk of work-related accidents. Although retail is generally considered a low-injury hazard sector, new processes (such as curbside pickup) and changes in worker demographics are expected to pose new challenges to retailers in the near future.[text_ad use_post=’125303′]Contributing Writer Garett Seivold evaluates some of these new challenges in an article in the most recent issue of LPM Online. From the article:- Sponsor – In an industry sector bulletin released in August, the safety agency described some of the changes that could impact the number of injuries and claims affecting retailers. They include:New processes such as curbside pickup are increasing the number of manual‐handling jobs, transforming checkout clerks into product handlers for onsite packing, bagging, and curbside delivery to customers.Cardboard slats covered in plastic are replacing cardboard boxes, which can lead to more unstable loads that changes lifting dynamics and requires stockers to take more corrective actions to avoid dropping contents. The change increases the risk of back and shoulder injuries.Rapid growth in non‐store retailers is increasing demand for new workers that must perform manual lifting on a near‐continuous basis throughout their shifts. “These workers need specialized training in manual lifting techniques and use of appropriate work‐rest intervals,” warns the agency.Compounding these emerging risks are safety challenges posed by worker demographics, NIOSH cautions. Among these are an increase in older workers, the fact that retail stores now “often employ workers from three to four generations” that vary substantially in their physical capabilities, and the increasing use of temporary workers who are not typically as extensively trained. Finally, organizational pressures, such as fear of job loss and more demanding customers, are expected to exacerbate stress‐related injuries in the near future, according to the agency.Check out the full article, “Is Retail at Risk of Giving Back Safety Gains?,” to read case studies and practical suggestions of ways in which leaders are rising to the challenge. To receive free access to all issues of LPM Online, make sure you’re a digital subscriber by registering here for FREE.This post was originally published in 2017 and was updated December 14, 2017.
